The thickness of the brake disc is divided into front and rear. In general, the thickness of the front brake disc is about 32 mm, and the thickness of the rear brake disc is about 28 mm.

How does the front brake disc work?

The front brake disc is controlled by hydraulic pressure, and the main components are brake disc, wheel cylinder, brake caliper, oil line, etc. The front brake disc is made of alloy steel and is attached to the wheel that rotates with the wheel. The wheel brake cylinder is mounted on the base plate of the brake. The two friction pads on the caliper are installed on both sides of the brake disc. The piston of the secondary pump is actuated by the hydraulic pressure supplied by the oil line pressing the friction plate to press the brake disc to friction brake.

What are the working advantages of the front brake disc?

The front brake disc dissipates heat quickly, is lightweight, has a simple construction and is easy to adjust. Especially under high load, the front brake disc has good high temperature resistance, stable braking effect and is not afraid of mud water ingress. In winter and in poor road conditions, disc brakes are lighter than drum brakes in less time. Stop the car. Some disc brakes also have many small holes on the brake disc to accelerate ventilation and heat dissipation and improve braking efficiency. On the other hand, drum brakes accumulate a lot of heat during braking due to poor heat dissipation.

How does the front brake disc work?

When the front brake disc brakes, the oil is pressed into the two inner and outer wheel cylinders, and the piston presses the two brake pads against the brake disc under the action of hydraulic pressure to generate a friction moment for braking. At this time, the edge of the rectangular rubber sealing ring in the wheel cylinder groove creates a slight elastic deformation under the action of the friction force of the piston. When the brake is released, the piston and brake pads return to their original position by the elastic force of the sealing ring and the elastic force of the spring.

Since the deformation of the edge of the rectangular sealing ring is very small, the gap between the friction disc and the disc at rest is only about 0.1mm on each side, which is sufficient to ensure release of the brake. In addition, when the brake disc is heated and expanded, its thickness changes only slightly, so that the phenomenon of "holding" does not occur.

The Winhere Quality Inspection Center has been certified by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and received an accreditation certificate with registration number CNAS L10551 in April 2018. including automated spectrum analyzer and automated X-ray detector On-site measurement systems and automated balancing machines are widely used in quality testing and process capability control.
