•Higher Grade Materials: They are typically made from more refined, high-carbon iron alloys. This material has better thermal properties, allowing it to absorb more heat without distorting and to dissipate it faster.
•Preventing Warping: Standard rotors are prone to warping under thermal stress. This isn't always a literal bend but often an uneven transfer of pad material onto the rotor surface. This causes a pulsating vibration in the brake pedal and steering wheel. Performance rotors, with their superior metallurgy and heat treatment, are much more resistant to this phenomenon.
